We think our One Happy Leaf customers are pretty amazing people, so much so that they deserve the spotlight! Our next Happy Person is Suzanne, who wore One Happy Leaf earrings and cufflinks on her wedding day. So lets find out more about Suzanne....
Maryland, USA
I own the heart-shaped stud earrings and heart-shaped cufflinks and have hopes to purchase more for myself and for gifts for friends and family later on. I wore the heart-shaped stud earrings on my wedding day over the very expensive diamond earrings I had planned to wear and received so many compliments!
Everything was packaged so thoughtfully and in an environmentally friendly way. Everything available to purchase is simple and sweet.
Reliable. Responsible. Fun-loving.
Doing small things that matter a lot. Being friendly and taking the higher road no matter the situation. Helping others' understand their life experiences may not be that of someone else's.
1. I love to drink coffee outside.
2. I love to take the dog on walks around the lake with my wife.
3. Oddly enough, I enjoy catching up on household chores.
4. Large family dinners with parents, siblings and nieces/nephews.
5. Watch sporting events (in-person when possible!)

Did you know that One Happy Leaf may be closer than you think? One Happy Leaf jewellery is stocked in 30+ stores across Australia and the United States, and your closest store may be just around the corner! We love our stockists and wanted to show you their beautiful stores, so we have created a new interview blog series called Happy Stores.
The first store owner to be interviewed for Happy Stores is Megan from Pookipoiga, based in Victoria.
Sree and I are travellers at heart, so we tend to gravitate towards those with a passion for exploring. We met some Finnish friends in Melbourne a couple of years ago, who just so happened to give us a Finnish language lesson at a party. It's a difficult, but fun language to learn. Pookipoiga is a word that stuck! It literally means 'little washer boy', which is the term they use for clothes peg.
Heartfelt, quirky, local
We stock One Happy Leaf because Anna's ideology resonates right alongside our own. We focus on ethical, sustainable and local - all of which Anna's beautiful jewellery is. Not only is the jewellery beautiful and sustainable, the extra impact of planting a tree for every order is something that we love! If we can all do something little, it will add up to extraordinary.
We have an emphasis on upcycled and environmentally friendly, so alongside One Happy Leaf, you will find Tread and Pedals' clocks made from upcycled bicycle parts; cards by Ruby MacKinnon that are made from 100% recycled paper; Hunter Lab mens' products that only use natural ingredients; and so much more!
There are so many things that I love about Pookipoiga: I love that we are able to encourage our customers to shop consciously; I love being able to share the beautiful work of our artists; and I absolutely love being able to support the community - we donate a meal to the homeless through SecondBite with every purchase: they reduce the impact on landfill by rescuing excess foods from supermarkets, cafes and restaurants and redistribute to the homeless through community organisations.
You can visit Pookipoiga at 64 Bridge Road, Richmond Victoria

A couple of months ago I received an unexpected email, which I almost deleted thinking it was spam (ek!). It was far from spam, in fact it was an email from Etsy Head Office (United States) wanting to publish a feature article on One Happy Leaf! Saying I was a little excited is a bit of an understatement.
For years I had been reading Etsy's blogs on feature sellers, almost studying them religiously. Before I quit my day job to start working full-time on One Happy Leaf I use to read the Etsy "Quit Your Day Job" blog series in my lunch break and take notes. The series consisted of interviews of Etsy sellers and their transition from hobby to full-time business. I was obsessed with these articles, trying to learn all that I could about running a creative business.
Well, it turns out all that obsessive reading and studying helped me in my own pathway to finally quit my day job in 2014. As fate would have it, Etsy would publish an article about One Happy Leaf as a "Feature Seller" (the Feature Seller blog replaced the Quit Your Day Job series) three years later.
Through the powers of Skype, a lovely Etsy representative carried out the interview over the phone. I was excited and probably spoke too much and too quickly! However, she was able to decipher through my rambles and created the below blog.
See what Etsy had to say about One Happy Leaf by reading the blog here.
Enjoy!

I think my One Happy Leaf customers are pretty amazing people, so much so that I will be dedicating a new section in my blog to interviewing these Happy People! The first Happy People interview is with Helen! Helen has been a long time supporter of One Happy Leaf so it was only fitting for her to be the first interviewee!
Perth, Australia
I own a Friendship necklace, Serene necklace, Half Moon necklace, a Chubby bird brooch and some Bubble Coasters. I have several other pieces on my wish list. I've also bought necklaces and coasters as gifts for friends. One excellent thing about One Happy Leaf products is that they are light, so if you need to post gifts overseas, they fit the bill perfectly!
I absolutely love the philosophy behind One Happy Leaf. Anna has made a choice to make her gorgeous products from a renewable source and she donates part of the profits to planting more trees on our planet. I love that I get to wear jewellery that I feel good about and can also feel that I am contributing to something worthwhile. It's hard to feel guilty buying another piece of jewellery if your purchase is helping to oxygenate and beautify our world!! :-) I also love the natural beauty of her simple designs. They have a minimalist look and look fantastic with anything in my wardrobe.
Mmmm that's a tricky one, but I think they would say that I am happy, good natured, honest and genuine, with a good sense of humour.
Apart from my gorgeous family that light up my life every day, I am inspired by people that make a difference in the world, no matter how big or small, By people that take a risk to lead a life that is truly authentic to them. I am also very inspired by all the natural beauty that surround us in the world. I am a lover of flowers, any flowers, with Peonies being my favourite. My love of flowers has lead me to my passion for photography, especially Macro photography. I love the beauty of a close up shot of a flower and continually marvel at the gorgeous colours and the total perfection of all flowers and plants.
1. Spend time with my family
2. Spend time with friends
3. Go out for breakfast or dinner
4. Go A.W.O.L with my camera
5. Spending 10 minutes that turns into hours on Pinterest and Instagram following photographers and all sorts of other creative people making amazing things.

When friends come to visit me at home, inevitably they will ask “can I see where you work?” I guess curiosity gets the better of them and they want to see where I make the eco jewellery. Sometimes I mentally gasp in horror as I know my studio is an absolute mess, boxes and papers everywhere, but politely I give them a tour.
It gives me great joy to see their eyes light up as they see the studio and ask questions. I am excited when friends ask about the running of my business and how the sustainable jewellery is made, so naturally I would like to extend the tour to you too.
I actually work within two rooms at my home in Perth, Australia. In my previous ‘corporate day job’ I had an hour-long commute to and from work, every day in peak hour traffic (fun times!). If there had been an accident on the freeway, the commute would take two hours just to get to work. It’s crazy to think that now my commute to work is a leisurely 30 second stroll down the passageway to my studio office. Sometimes I stop for coffee (in the kitchen) on the way to work.
The first room, my studio office, is where I do the majority of my work. It’s a humble little office full of natural light and space. The walls are decorated with plants, artwork, vision boards, post-it notes, yearly planners and endless lists on butcher’s paper. I’m a very visual person and I find surrounding myself with pictures and lists helpful in keeping me on task for the year. For the most part, this is the room where I do all of my office-related work, such as administration, marketing strategies, blogging and website maintenance. Most people are surprised to hear that the majority of my days are made up of administration work, with only an hour or so dedicated to making and packing orders. Out of the two rooms, this one is definitely my favourite. It’s here that I stream the Italian radio and work away, usually from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
The second room came about as a result of the business growing and requiring its own dedicated production studio. This room is where I store my laser cutting machine and cut the bamboo jewellery. The machine and all its attachments measure about 2 metres by 1.5 metres, hence the need for the second room. When the machine is cutting it’s very noisy, and the room feels like a mini workshop. I also store the bamboo sheets, market trestle tables and props in this room. It’s fair to say that this room is pretty chaotic and definitely not minimalistic! I don’t spend too much time in this room, as I prefer to take the freshly-cut bamboo jewellery pieces back to my office where the lighting is great. It’s back in this room that I do most of the making and packing with my assistant.
It’s possible that within the year I will outgrow the two rooms but at the moment I am hanging onto them. This is mostly because I don’t want a commute longer than 30 seconds, but also because working at home has its perks! There’s endless food, I can work in my pyjamas all day long and have a dance party at a moment’s notice. Plus, I like bouncing ideas off my furry work colleague, my cat (she’s yet to contribute any of her own ideas to the business though).
So that’s it! Those are the two rooms that make up One Happy Leaf eco-friendly jewellery headquarters. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below. If you want to get regular updates on what’s happening in the studio, join the 2000+ strong Happiness Society and subscribe here.

The numbers are in! Because of your jewellery purchases, we were able to plant 508 trees between the 1st July 2016 to the 30th June 2017! Just to give you a little visual, the picture above has 508 trees. Now that's a lot of trees!
We are thrilled that our environmentally conscious business is making a small difference to the earth. It won't replace the estimated 7 billion trees that are cut down every year, but it's our contribution in creating a greener (and happier) world.
The trees were planted through the Foundation for the Natural Parks and Wildlife and the Nature Conservancy. These trees were planted in Australia, United States, China and South America. Check out their good work!
We will continue to plant a tree for every order placed through One Happy Leaf. We look forward to doubling this number over the next 12 months! If you would like to stay updated with the number of trees we have planted, subscribe to Happy Mail here.

Did you know that our jewellery is 100% made in Australia in our studio in Perth, Western Australia? All of our bamboo jewellery is laser cut by Lisa (the laser cutter). She's a noisy little thing, but she cuts well!!
After the bamboo has been cut it is hand sanded before being assembled into beautiful eco-friendly jewellery. Here I am loading her up with eco-friendly bamboo for the next batch of cutting. #ohlinthestudio

Oh hey there Trump.
I'm not one to get involved in international politics, however I see the United States has pulled out of the Paris Agreement. The Paris Agreement is such an important agreement unifying the world in it's progress towards environmental protection. It's about nations coming together to work towards combating climate change which includes assisting less developed country in their efforts. As a major contributor to green house gases, the removal of the United States from this agreement is disappointing.
Here over at One Happy Leaf headquarters in Australia, we are now even more committed to working harder to help prevent climate change and to promote environmentally conscious lifestyles. As global citizens we have a harder job ahead of us, but we are united.
Who's with us?

If you have been following me on Instagram, you would know that I have been spending the last few weeks designing + creating the next One Happy Leaf collection. It's been pretty fun going to art galleries, city gardens + even State libraries in search for inspiration. After many, many sketches I have finally created the next line of jewellery called the Evoke collection.
Last week was a bit of a highlight for me as we had the photo shoot at a gorgeous natural setting in the hills (about 1 hour's drive from my home city, Perth). The model, the photographer + weather made for a perfect day. Even a few inspiring model kangaroos made an appearance!
You can expect the same One Happy Leaf distinguishable features in the next collection; made from beautiful, sustainable bamboo, minimalistic + inspired by nature. The collection will include a combination of abstract/patterned signs as well as cute + adorable pieces that I know you love!
I'm so excited to launch the Evoke collection to you on the 25th May 2017!
In the meantime, here are a couple of snaps from the photo shoot, including a sneak peek of the 'Origins' necklace + 'Arise' earrings.
Be the first to know about the Evoke collection when it's launched by subscribing to Happy Mail. Subscribers get behind the scenes updates and exclusive subscriber-only sales.
